Beginner's Yoga Description
This class is designed as an introduction to the practice of yoga.. Class is slower paced than an all-levels class, and focused on developing clear and safe alignment in foundational poses. Come to learn, play, and maybe even break a sweat in a supportive environment. You don't need to be able to touch your toes; you just have to be willing to try.
Strength, Stretch & Flow Description
This class combines somatics (slow, conscious isolated movements of major muscles
and joints which reprogram the body to move fluidly), and stretch postures, along with breath, mudras, and internal focus. We will also practice classical gentle Yoga poses, mudras to specifically direct & open energy in the body, as well as flowing poses and stretches from Tao Yoga that allow energy to flow through the meridians. This gentle to moderate class, promotes flexibility, lightness, and graceful movement. Chairs and mats available. Appropriate for all levels.
Chi Gong Description
Qi Gong (Chi Kung) is an ancient practice originating in China that combines movement, meditative awareness and regulation of breathing to enhance the flow of vital energy. Qi means "life force energy". "Gong" means "work" or "skill". As we practice, we gain skill with sensing, directing, circulating and storing our life force energy. Students will learn breathing techniques, warm-ups, stretches, and gentle flowing movements. Benefits of this practice include improved circulation, enhanced immune function, improved ease of movement, balanced emotions, as well as greater vitality and joy.
Chair Yoga Description
With a chair or two for support, this class challenges the body and mind through strengthening, stretching, relaxing and breathing. Flexibility, and muscle tone will continually improve as your mind, body and spirit work together in harmony. This class is for those who have issue getting up and down from the floor and prefer a chair for their main seat.
Meditation for Anxiety Description
Most of us experience anxious thoughts from time to time - whether it's tension at work, unease in finances, or difficulties in relationships. Even the doubt that comes in a simple "what if" could increase anxiety levels. It's normal to feel anxiety and yes, even fear, in uncertain situations.
You cannot avoid anxiety, but it is important to deal with it in healthy ways. That's where the link between meditation and anxiety comes in.
